I just bought my 2012 xlt 5.0 screw with 40k miles for 27k. Thought that was a pretty good price and nowhere near new pricing.

I wouldn't be brave enough to buy a vehicle new or used without looking at it and driving it, so I'll have to go through the hassle again eventually.

Some dealers advertise the new trucks MSRP minus rebates. It's pretty straight up offering $12k off MSRP before you even ask. So I'll probably buy new and deal with guys like that. Possibly try to get another $2k off by going in at the end of the month. I don't realistically think you'll do much better than $12-$14k off MSRP. Buying a used one with low miles seems to be more expensive than that.

Seems to me if you can find a dealership who still has some left over 14s sitting on their lots next to the 15s, you would get hell of a deal that way. That's how I got my 14KR, they had a bunch of 15s and wasn't moving the 14s so I was able to $6k off before I even walked in the door.

Doesn't sound too bad. The 2013 I bought was $32k new after rebates. Exact same as yours down to the color, except it wasn't the chrome package. Really, it was low optioned and barely an XLT (not much difference than an XL) so I shouldn't say exactly like yours. But new pricing vs. used is surprising.

No 2014's very close to me at all. I had that idea too.

I say none, there may be a platinum or something. I'm an XL or XLT guy (only because of price).

I'm tempted to go look at the 2015 XL I was talking about. If Christmas wasn't coming up (not the best time to be throwing money around elsewhere), I'd drive my two beaters up there and offer them $20k plus my junk lol.

It's been quite a few years that nearly new trucks are priced higher than new. Back in 2012 I was looking for slightly used and I found that I could literally buy a new truck less than a used one. The worst part? The slightly used trucks that were priced more than new that I was low-balling and they wouldn't budge? Those trucks all sold.

Bottom line, there is a market for them and the prices of new trucks skyrocketing is increasing the value of all trucks.

In comparison to 2012 when I was looking at new, I am finding that 2013/2014 used with low mileage are actually more now than I could've bought the same truck new for back then.

Link to the new truck I was talking about. I realize it's base model, but seems like a lot better investment than a used one with 20k miles for 6 grand more.

The only thing I'd want that are not on the above truck are the center console and the 36 gallon tank. I'd be fine with everything else.
