Default Cancelling Ford ESP after 60 days

I was denied doing this when I went to trade off my my one F150. No i traded the problem truck i had but not for another Ford not that it matters. The selling dealer submitted the paperwork and called me a couple days ago to tell me it can't be cancelled after the initial 60 day period for any type of refund unless I totalled the truck. I have read people saying you can here for a prorated amount but looking at the back of the Ford service contract I don't think you can. It just lists cancelling within the first 60 days, upon total loss in an accident, or by Ford if you defaulted on payment. Yes it's a Ford ESP plan. Nowhere does the contract state any service fee or prorated refund. Needless to say that was money out the window lol. I asked to transfer the plan to my other F150 and they can but the "credit" I get amounts to nothing.... would be cheaper to buy it online from flood ford or whoever. When I went to cancel it had been about 90 days since date of purchase.

For fun here is the cancellation portion for the contract if anyone is wondering. I read it when I bought it so I wasn't surprised but what I am surprised with is threads stating they have gotten money back.

I have cancelled many of those contracts like when I trade in a car or whatever. Never had an issue. They refund me the pro rated amount. I think that dealer just does not want to do it.

I don't think so as its not their call on whether they get a refund or not. Now we could say they are corrupt and pocketing money but they have been pretty above and beyond thus far. I will phone customer service to ask maybe but I expect a simple robot like reiteration of exactly the contract I posted above. I notice the US sold ones talk about pro ratings on their websites but Ford up here shows nothing like that. Oh well.

May be a lower-48 versus upper-13 issue, eh?

*Have always gotten a pro-rated refund.

Lol. I am thinking so. Flood Ford as an example explicitly mentions the pro rated refund but if you read the cancellation portion of the contract I attached it mentions none of that. It would be interesting to see if the US sold contracts look like mine or include the pro rating clause.

I've cancelled two Ford ESP's before . . . If you call the ESP ADMINISTRATION office, they'll even give you the pro-rated refund amount. however, the dealer MUST be the one who cancels it, and the dealer is the one who must issue the refund check. The dealer calls the same ADMIN office I did.

Of course, you're in Canada, so can only advise on us cancellations.

Yeah I don't think it works like that here. I can see the US administration number but there is nothing like that for Canada. I can call I suppose and see if they redirect me maybe... obviously during the week. Pretty sure I am getting nothing here lol.

I guess I missed the part about you being in Canada. Sorry. Must be different up there. I'm in Michigan. Lol
