Hey forum, 4th F150, thought I'd post some pics as she transforms from stock. Ordered this 2012 Lariat the day I sold my 2011 Lariat... 8 weeks later it arrived at Denny Andrews Ford in Edmonton, AB. I was away with work and couldn't pick it up for two weeks. So March 15th, it came home with me. Between spring snowstorms I have had a chance to make some progress.
Here she is stock: |

Changed stock wheels and tires (100km on them and for sale if anyone wants a good deal).
Installed take-off OEM Raptor 17"wheels with Nitto DuraGrappler 285/75/17 tires. |

Installed the boxliner.
On went the Truxedo cover. Ventshades on the windows. Carbon fiber applique to cover the wood grain (although this years woodgrain is nicer than last year's) Off with the stock Lariat ptm flares, and on with the Bushwacker's! Covered all the holes to try to keep as much dirt out from under the flares. The Take-off flares are now for sale too! |

Home with the finished product. She's squatting in the rear because the take-off's are all in there along with 4 boxes for the 6" Pro-Comp lift that will be going on this week. But to all the naysayers, surprisingly enough, these 35" tires do not rub at all in this stock form. And here is a picture of the offset of the Raptor wheels for all of those who say they stick out to far... if you ask me they don't stick out enough!

Looks good!

this coming week:
the 6" lift goes on. Might consider some different wheels/tires with a little more WOW factor. I really like BMF wheels (Black and machined) but not sure the budget will allow it. Any suggestions or interest in these Raptor rims/Nitto tires? Once the lift is on, I will put some mudflaps front and rear to protect the paint. Black exhaust tip - still trying to find one that doesn't look cheesy! Lower bumper grill insert - going to Fab one to match the RBP grill - stainless/black wire. And then my list is complete. I have opted to not modify anything on the drivetrain YET! Intake and exhaust remaining as-is for now. I also have factory stainless tube-steps and the pop-out box access steps. Should I put them on? Or sell them as new take-off's and try to find a good robust wheel to wheel black board or tube? I have sourced FX4/HD black headlights and tail-lights, so will swap them in too. Will paint the tail-light edges with Sterling grey before I install them. New take-offs for sale! Wheels... what would make this truck stand out. The Raptor wheels are stealthy but I don't know if they are the final look I am after. Maybe I keep them for winter wheels? Any other suggestions? Comments? |
Thanks for the kind comment CountryF-150.
Only 83 views, and only 1 comment. Guess the title should have read "how many people hate their F150" or "wished I could get better mpg". How about FREE PARTS FOR FIRST 100 REPLIES? Seems like more complaining threads get the reads! Oh well. If anyone cares to send some comments good or bad... back to play-off NHL hockey! |
I'm not a fan, mainly because of the grill and the fender flares. I do like the raptor wheels though. The HD heads/tails will look great also.

Well I like it. Grill is truly unique and personal. Overall-understated beauty. Amazingly, sometimes people just have nothing to say...!
