Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio
Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Can Sync default to Bluetooth Audio?
The dealer cannot help you. Ford Cannot help you, I have a non working system, and their response is I have to wait for an update. I have been waiting for eight months. I have extended warranty, and they still cannot fix it. They have even closed the case, because they have provided a "resolution." Which is to have a non working system until someday in the future if ever. The radio can be replaced for about $2000 and keep everything working, but also have better bluetooth and touch screen. I asked ford to pay for that since they have failed to honor their warranty. They refused. I asked them to return the price of the warranty, they refused. I am so frustrated.
At least you guys can get Bluetooth audio. I can link my iPod but I can't get the audio from my iPod. I have an iPod 4 but that should not matter, should it?
I just updated to the newest update ....

Oh, ok. Thanks so much for the link. I'll go check it out.
My galaxy S6 syncs to everything except the F-150 now. It pairs fine in my Mother's BMW, and my Wife's Honda Pilot, and my Galaxy Tab S, so I know it's not the phone.

Well I logged into the ford owner site and it says my system is up to date. Even lists my phone as compatible. Off to the dealer I go
God have mercy on my soul

God have mercy on my soulIt's a convoluted mess of bad car system programming and android being weird.
A lot of times you have to go into the bluetooth menu and delete all of the devices out of the memory, then go to your phone and do the same for SYNC. Reboot the phone, turn off the car and try again

fyi, the iphone6 the job forces my wife to use, doesn't work either. Went over to the Ford dealer, and they couldn't figure it out even after some "hard reset"? (they called it). I just said F... it, and left. At least sirius radio works, which in the end, is all I really care about on a long road trip.
I find IOS weird and clunky, not android, but do agree this (2013/14) ford sync BS is looks like a child programmed it, and is very unrefined. It looks like Ford was late to the game and had to toss everything together quickly. The manual is poorly written, and on many topics, doesn't match my system. So much so, Ford had to build part of the myford website just to clarify the manual, add "how to videos" and step by step instructions.

Yup. I love having to try to yell "BLUETOOTH AUDIO" as they scream "CANCEL!!" I have to get in and keep the doors locked until I get it to bluetooth before I let them in.
Also, I read that the new SYNC update has to be applied at the dealership. Is there no way to do this at home on my own? I mean, I am fairly technologically savvy and could easily do it myself.

Probably has something to do with the SID or MAC address being saved in one or both systems, and not allowing any subsequent connections to take place. IF you do both with a blank slate, it almost always work
I used to work for at&t and had to do this for people constantly...such a PITA bluetooth is.
I am confused... I have a 2014 Stx with the basic radio and I'm having the issue of having to select Bluetooth every time I get in my truck and it not resuming the music... It seems like some of you guys resolved this with the update but I'm not sure. Anyone resolve the Bluetooth issue with a 14 Stx or the same radio? Thanks!
