Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio

Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Update on mine....non MFT 2012 Fx4. After upgrade it was always going back to general line in. Yesterday morning I deleted the phone on the truck side, deleted the truck on the phone side and re-paired and it seems to be working now. Prior I had just re-paired without deleting the truck on the phone side. Not sure why that would change things but it seems to have. Will test again when I get in the truck to drive this morning.

Yes. It defaults to BT Audio... sometimes. Sometimes it can't find the phone at all, sometimes it finds the phone and goes to Line In or USB. Is unpredictable.

Yes... I thought it was working trouble free but that only lasted two days.. Now it connects when it wants to and forces me to connect with the voice command sometimes.

I think that's the part that irritates me the most. I wouldn't care if it didn't start back up on BT audio, as long as I could just hit aux a couple times and go to bluetooth. Voice commands are ridiculous and Sync is particularly bad at interpreting them.

I think I mentioned this previously, but even before this update I tried to pair a NEW phone to the system and never got it working correctly until I deleted all the profiles and started fresh in the truck. So this leads me to believe that anytime you do an update on the truck that's probably a good course of action too. Just FYI.

i thought I did that, but it won't hurt to do it again. I'll delete sync from the phone and the phone from sync.

When you guys do master resets, does it affect other inputs? Will I lose my presets?

Hitting master reset in the sync menu did not affect my radio presets or settings at all.

I didn't remove sync from my phone and repair he first time I tried, but I did the second time and it worked. I also did a master reset and reflashed the install, so I can't say which of those steps did the trick or if it was a combination.

Update on my 2014 non MFT. Newest SYNC software correctly installed.

Using Pandora through bluetooth streaming will result in Unknown/Unknown for the artist and title info, but only after I change Pandora stations.

Using Songza, the artist and title info show up perfectly, every time.

The best and only way I can get my Samsung Galaxy S5 (fully updated everything) to connect consistantly EVERY TIME is to turn on the phone bluetooth a few minutes BEFORE the truck. This seems to work perfectly. If i forget and the phone bluetooth boots up during SYNC's "connecting......" message its all bad and takes like 20 different combos to get the damn phone to connect.

Still love my truck. Still think SYNC is a joke.

I guess I'm the odd man out; ever since I've updated my 2013 non-MFT, it's worked fantastic - using an iPhone, no less, which are a bit more restrictive.

Same setup here, and yes, on the rare occasion that I don't have bluetooth on already hoo boy get ready for some fun times. What a PITA. Mine is normally just left on though thankfully.
