Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio
Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Same issue seems to be what Sync considers normal. Worked same on 2010,2011 and 2013, never reconnects to bluetooth audio have to hit button and say bluetooth audio. Crappy SW doesnt wait for bluetooth to reconnect before reverting to line in or USB

If you think FordIVTteam answered my last post (#38), then you pay about as much attention as they do.
And its FordIVTteam not FordIVTeam
Attention to detail is definitely not their strong suit, or they just answer however they want, one or the other.
So.....FordIVTteam are you going to answer my questions from Post #38?

Hi Antonio,
Did you actually pay attention to my post?
"The Sync system in my F150 will not connect to a phone automatically if the phone is not present when the Sync system starts up, you have to manually connect the phone. If the phone is present when Sync starts up then it connects fine, unless you try to disturb Sync while it is connecting and then it does not connect."
The phone always connects if it is present when Sync starts up. The issue that I have is that Sync does not connect to the phone automatically if it is not present when Sync starts up, you must connect it manually through the touch screen. Example: I go out to start my truck when it is cold so that it can warm up, no phone present, then a few minutes later I get in the truck to leave, which is already started as well as Sync, and Sync will not connect to my phone automatically when the phone is inside the vehicle with me. Even my wife's Honda Odyssey connects automatically to the paired phones no matter what the status of the system is.
Second issue is with the random source selection on Sync startup. This started after I began using a 128GB flash drive to play my music from. If the flash drive was playing when Sync shut off, sometimes it will resume at the next startup, sometimes it will just go to line-in, sometimes the radio, somtimes it will start from the beginning of the list of music on the flash drive, etc. with no pattern. Any other source usually resumes without a hitch, including an iPod. I assume that your response to this will be that the device is not supported/approved/tested/blessed/ect. by Ford or Microsoft to work with the Sync system, even though it is a simple USB flash drive that is FAT32 formatted on a Microsoft operating system.
Third issue. Is there a software update planned for anytime in the future for the Sync system with touch screen navigation that is currently on Gen1 - V4.1.3????? Not a timeline, just whether or not an update is planned.
Thanks

Hi Crank Bait,
I'm happy to clear this up for you. When comparing different make and model year vehicles, it's important to note that they may be running different versions of SYNC software. The software installed depends on the current or prior vehicle owners and how frequently vehicle was updated. If you're in two completely different model year vehicles, their features may operate totally different.
For example, there was a time when the vehicle would default to the last channel used - even if it was Bluetooth audio. This created a concern for many customers as using Bluetooth does require an additional power load from the phone. Customers became anxious over not being able to control this behavior, as it may lead to overall battery consumption earlier than usual. So, per vehicle owner feedback, the latest version of software does not default to the Bluetooth audio channel. The best means of selecting this source is through the appropriate voice command BLUETOOTH AUDIO. Let me know if there are any questions.

I want mine to start playing BT audio again, just as it was when I left the truck.
I don't care that they complain about battery drain, I didn't, I got a USB port to charge it RIGHT ON THE DASH - if that doesn't say something about those that complained idk what to say...
If you have sync you have the USB port, right? So isn't this "problem" resolved by itself?
