Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio

Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

I also hate that Bluetooth does not show the artist and song. That's why I always plug the USB cable in.

Since I keep all my music on an ipod and not my phone, I would even be happy if SYNC simply detected a USB device being plugged in and automatically switched over to that. I'm likely going to relocate the USB/AUX panel to the center console to solve the problem (where it should have been in the first place anyways), but still, just seems like a simple function that should have been there from the beginning.

Don't you know guys? LINE IN is the future! Nobody is going to use that fancy "bluetooth" or "USB" crap.

Yeah that was a pretty short sighted choice lol.

I just wish I could get Bluetooth to automatically reconnect and my Sync to connect and stop playing my music through a phone call. Like wtf is that!?

I'll confess I didn't read through every single page of this thread but has Ford Service chimed in to help us?

How hard would it be to program sync to default to the last setting it was on when the truck was turned off? Wouldn't that make everybody happy? I put a 200 dollar head unit in the Tacoma I used to have and it could handle that just fine.

According to the reps I've spoken too, it does! I tried explaining that turning the truck on and it saying 'line in' when I had it on Bluetooth isn't the same as having it on FM and it being on FM again when I turn it on. I couldn't see them, but from the silence I can only assume they looked like a cow staring at a new gate.

If you were on the phone with them they were probably at some call center in India so we can't hardly blame them for having no idea what they are talking about. Does anybody have any solution for the USB not being able to play music and navigate without draining the battery?
