Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio
Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Can Sync default to Bluetooth Audio?
As for Ford fixing anything , I'm going go ahead and say they wont based on my experience with the wonderful 55MPH Vibration, that has been there since day one, that they claim is harmonics. Total BS
Then you have MS, well they know they are on the way out so why support something they will not being providing I the future, seems to be their logic.
Their claim for this whole issue is because of Bluetooth power drain, I honestly see no difference whether it is on or not.
I find that my Pioneer has a much easier menu as well as way more power and control.

I know Alpine has a 8" unit that integrates without issue. Every feature remains intact and you can customize the buttons on the steering wheel too.
For example when you hit the talk button it asks you for a command, you can set it so that if you HOLD that button for a set period (like 3 seconds) it will do something else - you pick what it does.

I agree about their lame excuse it's to conserve battery. No it isn't... My truck clearly has an option for auto play, it just doesn't work.
I have to add my frustration here. Aside from Sync Services not being available in Canada. Which my dealer told me it was when selling the truck. Not being able to default to Bluetooth Audio is my biggest complaint with Sync. Then yesterday I get a 2013 Ford Focus as a rental car, pair up my phone and guess what. Every time I start the car it auto defaults to bluetooth audio and begins playing the song or podcast where I left off. Brilliant. Exactly like the 23 pages of people here are asking it to operate.
My Truck is a 2011 and is up to date according to Sync website. I do not believe that a 2013 vehicle is running older software so why can this not be fixed on our trucks. If the new vehicles operate this way then the story of it being to prevent battery drain is crap as we knew it to be.

Damn. Just spent a weekend of fishing with my brand new 14 XLT with sync and what a disappointment. My wife's Fusion with MFT works pretty well, not without flaws, but it's functional. The Sync system in my XLT is shameful. This bluetooth thing is annoying, but it's also funny becuase the voice confirmation says "Blumtooth Audio". Not bluetooth, "blumtooth." Can't decide whether to laugh or cry.
This isn't what the thread is about, but the USB functionality is completely broken too. A simple BACK button would fix a lot of this. Every computer/phone I've used in the past decade has had some way to go up a level or back. Nope. It seems you have to start all they way at the top of the menu everytime.

What I don't get is that my wife has a 14 escape and her sync is also flawless, why can they get iy right in the f150. Hers connects to bluetooth audio and starts over every time.
So I think I've figured one thing out - if you stop the stream on the phone and then shut the truck off, generally (not all the time apparently) it WILL restart in Bluetooth. However then I've noticed that sometimes the phone will start playing right when you shut the truck off. Which is also really annoying. I'm using a Droid RAZR HD and the doggcatcher app (podcasts) when I've seen this.
