Issue: Cannot default the My Ford Sync system (without Navigation) to Bluetooth audio
Some users are having an issue with when they turn the ignition on their My Ford Sync system reverts to Line-In even though they were using Bluetooth audio when they turn their vehicle off. They would like to have the system revert back to Bluetooth audio instead of having to go through the menus to be able to get to Bluetooth audio or use the voice commands. A Ford customer service representative FordIVTteam actually joined in the conversation and gave the reason why Ford made this change (as it would previously revert to Bluetooth) and the best method to get back to the source they wanted.

Can Sync default to Bluetooth Audio?
Please PM your VIN so I can view some additional resources pertaining to your version of SYNC. Also, please include any troubleshooting you've already attempted thus far.

Looks like TSB 11-10-22 fixes my exact problem. Hopefully TSB are under warranty. Truck hasn't seen a dealer since I bought it.
I love my '11 F150, bought it CPO.
But SYNC is infuriating, it wont default to BT when you get in and ill be damned if it doesnt need completely reset (fuse pull) every 3 weeks or so. The system is completely goofed. Glad the rest of the truck has been great.
I dont have the latest firmware but the ford site wont let me download it again because it says i already did. beautiful.

I can lend a hand with that.
What kind of issues are you having that warrant such frequent fuse pulls? Have you spoken with your dealer regarding any of these concerns?ANtonio
First the bluetooth icon on the display will disappear, thats when you know the fun is about to begin. My phone still has BT on so no reason to not connect.
Then when you try to reconnect to "bluetooth audio" it will connect successfully for a second and then disconnect.
Then you can try again, and it will say no bluetooth device found.
restart the truck, turn the radio on/off, turn BT on/off on phone, reboot phone. no dice. The f150 could care less what youre trying to do. it wont connect
You have to yank the sync fuse...turn the truck on, turn it off, replace fuse, then turn the truck back on. Resync the phone and all is well
pure joy.
I have an iphone 5, ios7.

I had to do that crap 6 times, and 2 visits to the dealer and I finally said to hell with it and ditched my iPod for this very reason.
Apple devices just f*** it up to the point of NOT working at all, and Android just doesn't show anything, but it always works "blindly"
Either way its a lose lose unless you just don't use it.

Unless there's an issue with the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM), a Clean Pairing could resolve your connection issues:
If the master reset described in the above video does nothing to improve your Bluetooth pairing, I recommend bringing the issue up with your local service adviser. Keep me posted!
The SYNC website is the best means of viewing any software updates that are available for download. The website does not always list dealer-level installs however, so if you are having any persistent SYNC concerns your service garage may still be able to address the issue on the software side. Dealer-installs are not always applicable to every situation, so a determination must be made after the vehicle is brought in for diagnostics.
Customization is always a great option to have. You're welcome to submit your suggestions over at the Ford Social site: http://social.ford.com/your-ideas/technologies/
