Default BMS Is it ok to disable.

Again, why would you NOT want a full charge on your battery? If this was saving us 2-3 MPGs maybe it would be worth it. But like the other guy said, the fuel savings will not even be measurable. On the flip side, the negative aspects of the system are many...as has been documented in this thread.

When the drawbacks outweigh the benefits, it's a bad idea.

I've been driving trucks for over 20 years without this system and never had one single complaint about how the charging system worked.

There is no telling how many dealership service visits there have been related to this system because people (and some dealers) don't even realize that the truck is designed to do this.
I just had this happen. I disabled it on my 2011Fx2. I was wanting to know if this will affect my truck at all. Or if it will just be like it was in the good old days.

Disconnect the inductive battery sensor that's around the negative battery cable about 3 inches from the battery, just unplug it, you can leave it on the cable. There's another one on the positive cable DO NOT disconnect that one.

Not all of them are like that. Granted, I know a couple mechanical engineers, that have absolute zero mechanical ability, but can explain things just good enough to make you want to tell them to go away. An engineer that also has the hands on skill is next to priceless.
