Not much different than a raw plastic bumper cover.

Well I guess I went through to many steps etching the chrone then, only painted a chrome bumper set once. I read they had to be etched to do a good job. That was years ago though, I suppose things are easier now. Oh well.

I do it this way once a week at least, like i mentioned before. Haven't had an issue. Even though the thread is for chrome dipped plastic, i did it on a metal bumper last week.

Over the past year I've needed to get bodywork done on two cars to have scrapes like those fixed. I'd guess that you're looking at about $3,000 to have that damage fixed.
