I agree, of course you could always pull a little *****box behind an rv, but I would prefer the TT and the truck and a boat or jetski or 4 wheeler trailer behind like Sean is doing.

I can see that as some good reasons.

But I sure enjoyed that the family was able to easily lounge around, relax comfortably in the RV during the drive, use the "john" on the road, walk about, instead of being cooped up in the seats of the tow vehicle.

I guess it's great that we have options to cater to everyone's needs!

well i could see the definite advantages of that if you were going on lots of long cross country road trips, but my camping would be weekend or even a couple week long trips to lakes not too far away so it wouldnt be an issue for me personally. depends on your style or idea of camping/RVing I guess!

You've got to have some mad driving skillz to backup that trio around obstacles!

It was quite a chore to get the rented RV with quad trailer backed-up and forward around a gas station island since there was insufficient room in front to get to the exit cleanly.

hehe, true, but I farm for a living and frequently pull 3 and sometimes even 4 separate things behind a tractor, never tried backing up 4 very far, but 3 can be done, and I do have mad skillz at doing it!

As a previous poster mentioned, you will run out of GAWR and cargo weight WAY BEFORE running into the 11,000 pull rating. a 10K 5'er will weigh about 2000 lbs on the pin. Add in your weight, gas, propane, ... and you will be way over your GAWR rear, which I assume is 4000 lbs. My 5er is 6600 unloaded, abuot 8000 loaded, 1050 on the pin unloaded, about 1200 loaded. Mine is a Cougar X-Lite, built for F150 type trucks (please don't call it a half ton. Half ton is 1000 lbs! Our F150s have 1400-1900 cargo, more on the 3/4 side!). To do it right, you have to tone down the weight/length of the trailer you want. If it must be a 10K, I'd go ball mount, with a WDH, hands down. but with the 3.5, I'd seriously reconsider that downwards too.

Hitch wise- I have a 5'6" box and a Pullrite 12K autoslider which is mandatory. There are no issues with the depth of the F150 bed.
Off topic but I think I called BS on your F150 puling your rig safely in another post w/o knowing it's weights. If it is indeed that light then I'm sure your good to go!!!. My 30' TT weigh's in at 9,500lbs and the one time I tried to pull it with my F150 it didn't like it at all.

Here is my white sticker, the generic one- GVWR (trailer) is 9890 total. Each axel is 4400, or, 8800 max on the wheels, leaving 1090 for the pin. I said 1050, sue me for 40 pounds.

Here is my yellow sticker- unique to my trailer after weighing it- max cargo = 2890. If GVWR is 9890, 7000 must be the dry weight (7000 + 2890 = my GVWR).

Thirdly, I weighed my truck, then truck trailer combo at a road side scale, and was within 8% of the above, empty. (I assume 1000 lbs has been added- 60 # propane, battery, "stuff", ... mostly to the rear.

Alas, this page will also validate my statements. My model is a 27SAB. Dry shipping weight = 6956. Pin = 1060.

Looks great. Im hoping to do something similar minus the slider hitch when I get enough cash for a decent 5th wheel. Just add more weight to the back of the trailer, it will make the tongue weight less, haha! Just bought a jet ski so I dont have the cash to plunk down on a new 5er this year, having troubles finding a decent used one with the correct weight thats not overpriced or old as ****! In my state I could legally use a bumper pull and pull my jet ski behind that but I like the look and the way 5ers pull better.

ya i can see that point as well. as my gramps would say hell if we all liked the same thing there would be a line of men at the door trying to get in your grannys pants. lol
