Not sure if this will be of any other assistance (On a bad net) but it looks to be a 'walk through'.

Hope it helps.

.... I'd also like to find a way to program a transmitter for the lock and the Autostart as she lost those on the other key as well.

*** Edit: Also looks like you will need an extended license to use the PATS reprogramming... according to their page at:

Just use a trial extended license. It's free and last for like a week or so.

There's a procedure in the owner's manual for programming remotes. No special tools or programs needed. I bought 2 cheapee eBay remotes just to have and followed the procedure. Worked great. I don't have remote start, but from what I gather all functions of the remote are recognized.

Digging this old thread up, but if I am understanding you right, I should be able to program a new key/key fob with only one original (other lost when I bought truck) and forscan (which I have)?

Yes, you just need two keys, get a Ford pats key (avoid ebay and Amazon) unless it's a Ford dealers parts department store and use Forscan to program them at the same time, then you can use both of those keys which will both be master keys to program more is you so choose.

Interesting, I must have totally overlooked this ability before when I first ordered the new fob as I had reserved myself to having to pay the $180 to get is programmed around here. But basically I can totally reset the key/fob state on the truck and assign two new (or new old) keys as masters, and then make as many more clones as I want?

Do you happen to have the link to that specific process within forscan? Poking around now. I currently have 1 original key (3 button without remote start), 2 spare uncut switch blades (just the metal) and one brand new unprogrammed and uncut fob w/ the remote start button as well (bought from ebay, says it is an oem original from remotewholesale w/ a 99.9% approval rating, hope thats legit I guess?).

All keys will be master keys, no clones. Not entirely sure how many but IIRC it's 6 or 8 keys total. I have 4 master keys, the 2 original ones and the 2 that came with the remote start kit

Depends on the year model of your truck, there are a few Forscan threads where you can find the specific info on programming keys

Yes, you can have 8 different keys that the vehicle wil recognize (this is assuming non-clones).

I only got 1 when I bought my truck used at a Ford dealer, forgot to negotiate a second key, then they wanted $200 for another key.

And some additional clarity - does this apply to both keys for the ignition and fobs for keyless entry? Are they equivalent for this discussion, or are they programmed and limited by to separate processes?
