Can I Add a Traditional Limited Slip to a 2014???
I guess they stopped installing traditional limited slip units in the rear in favor for the electronic locking axles. I just bought a 2014 without it and want to add a traditional limited slip to it. I'm just wondering if it interferes with any of the electronic traction aides? I'm guessing that's why they made the change at the factory.

Yes you can get a limited slip diff carrier swapped out and use your stock ring gear etc, but the truck will still use the abs system to mimic the limited slip. the only way to completely disable this is with a tune

Thanks. I'm swapping gears too, but I thought it would be better to keep that discussion separate.

I'm 2wd now. No rock crawling for me. Planning on making it a street machine!

Tuning does not disable anything with the trucks traction control systems. I own Hp tuners and you can't touch the modules and settings.

I could turn off traction control in my last truck so if I needed to spin a little to get through some mud I could. I was just wondering if they would interfere with each other while turning in the rain, etc... Thanks for the info about the STX.

Be careful about ordering the factory limited slip to install in yours. The regular cab short box's came with the smaller 8.8" gearset and everything else uses the 9.75" gearset. They won't interchange and don't want to waste a bunch of cash if you don't need to im sure
