Default Cam Phaser R&R Procedure/Manual?

My timing chains and cams phasers are making a racket. Ford refused to fix it. I'm capable of doing it I'm just looking for the official manual on how to do it, does anyone have that? I've searched but don't see where anyone has posted this up in the past did I miss it?

Question. Why does Ford refuse to fix it? There is a TSB out there(15-0131) for a known issue. A friend of mine who is a Ford tech even told me that the TSB is a revision of a previous one and that the new one doesn't say that the dealer needs to hear it. It says if the customer says they have heard it then they need the replace the cam phasers. Did they give you a reason?

Probably out of warranty that's why.

OK, I can understand that maybe. But what is the purpose of a TSB? My understanding has always been that it is a known issue, like a recall but not safety related and that the dealers need to fix these types of issues. If you experience a problem under warranty then it gets fixed on their dime not yours. If it's only fixed under warranty what's the need for a TSB?

Technical service bulletins are not free outside of warranty. Never have been and never will be. They are known issues that many customers have had and ford identifies a fix for. Again only covered under powertrain. Otherwise you are SOL.

Well that's pretty crappy. I've owned Fords my whole life, I guess I've been lucky enough to never have had an issue like a TSB out of warranty. If that happened to me I guess I'd be pretty pissed too. Like the saying goes " You learn something new every day".

Correct.

Discovered and documented during warranty before the tsb was released. Ford and Ford Customer Service declined to do anything post warranty and after the TSB was released.

That sounds like them. Curious what does this sound like and is your truck the 5.0? does it do it randomly or at idle or all the time?

Regardless of being out of warranty, if there is a TSB out there as a fix, Ford should fix it--only difference is the OP would be paying for it.

jerryk--find out what the TSB is, then call around to other Ford service centers to get a price on fixing it.

It is an ecoboost and sounds like every other ecoboost with the cam phaser rattle on cold start up.
