vote yes or no for being about to re-calibrate your truck to work with larger size tires ie.. odo, speedometer, etc...

what device did you use?

how much did it cost?

if you were shot down...why were you shot down and by who.

i have been to the ford house, 3 shops, and a custom performance shop.
Ford said it cant be done.
3 shops said it can be done even with a sct tuner or hyper tech even though those companies says it can be done.
performance shop told me he would put me up on a dyno and custom tune my truck for me (for free for advertisement and he is a customer of my dad). i rather not have it done and then for some reason ford works on it and messes it up.

you would be stupid not to get a free dyno tune done IMO. Ford will more than likely not reflash your PCM if you bring it in for any routine maintenance.

ehh. i can get a dyno anytime i want. he dynos my parents vehicles when my dad does mods to the G35 or his truck.

i plan on putting mine on a dyno once i finish modding it. looking for a CAI and thinking about regearing it since i have 3:55s now with my 34's and plan on doing a 4" lift and going with 35's and new wheels in march. im only concern with speed and odo for the next few months.

Took my 2010 to Ford for speedo recal. Took about 30 minutes, $110.00. Running 285/75/18 Toyo AT's, 34.8" dia. Prior to recal, speedo was off by 7 mph and mpg's dropped from 21 to 15. Now back up to 19 mpg and shift points feel good too. Took a trip from Calif. to Utah, counting mile markers, speedo is dead on. No tuner, thought about 5star, but did'nt want to deal with resetting it when smog time comes. Very pleased with the outcome.

Took mine into the local dealership, they could only calibrate it down to 641 RPM (Revs per mile) and the Nitto 295/70's run at 607. Definitely shifts better but not sure it was worth the $110. If I could do it again I would shell out for a tuner that could do the same. It did however change my perceived mileage from 12.8 up to 14.6 so I at least think I got my money's worth! All kidding aside, it is smart to do, the computer will change shift points and reduce wear on the torque converter locking and unlocking.

The 295/70R18 is only 2 revs per mile off from the stock Raptor tire size. Take to your Ford dealer and have it flashed for the raptor tire and you'll be fine.

Upgraded to 37in tires and 4.88 gears. I have an Edge Evolution CTS and plugged in all the upgrades. I attached my GPS and took the truck for 20 miles and tested against a traffic spedometer down the road. The GPS was right on and even after I made the mod's the Edge Evolution was off by 2.3 mph (slower) at 55mph. At 70, it was off by 4.79 mph(slower). Remember your GPS is a good guage on how fast your are traveling. Not a big issue, but to know

My dealer has told me that they can't go any larger tire than what was options for the truck.

I can however update my speedo with my SCT tuner.
