I did the air filter mod on my 2002, I would definitely do it to my 2013 if someone comes up with a way... like the door swing out fix... I'm sure someone can make it work here.

One major reason for not having filters is the fact that they are mold magnets. If not taken replaced often and or get wet, can cause many allergies to flare inside vehicle.

I wonder if this is what caused my wife's Camry AC to smell like mold. Most Toyotas have filters and there are tons of complaints. The dealer has already replaced the evaporator core on a new car with a mold resistant replacement. Didn't fix our problem. Toyota says we aren't using A/C right. They have us a bulletin teaching us how to use it. We're not suppose to use recirculate. We're also suppose to turn off AC and blow outside air a few minutes before arrival to dry it out.

But, you ARE talking about a Toyota...

My '95 540i had one, and changing out each year (as prescribed) yielded nice fresh, allergen-free air inside the cabin.

They do have to be changed regularly.

Very well worth the effort/expense, especially for allergy sufferers.

I really don't understand how the Mustang comes with a cabin filter, at least the previous body style did, but our trucks don't.

No one else gets a kick out of seeing pollen blow out of the vents when they start the truck in the morning?
