Bad Shocks!!!!!
I just brought my 2010 SCREW FX4 in for an alignment with 6900 miles on the odometer and the specialist showed me that the left rear shock was soaking wet and the right rear shock was damp! 6900 miles, I guess that you know that the dealership will be hearing from me next week. I guess they can deal withthat at the same time that they fix that POS six-speed!!!!

Well, I would think that if in fact, [both] rear HD shocks on your FX4 are defective at only 6900 miles; then the dealer will replace them, under the basic warranty on your truck. And if in fact, you are one of the (statistical) few, who are having A/T issues on the '10 model year vehicle; this too, will be dealt with under the warranty.

Shocks sometimes leak.
Usually only when they have been hammered pretty hard or if the shafts get scored and then tear up the seals, but certainly possible that it was defect in their manufacture
Either way, it's an easy dealer fix. Or just bring it to your local truck aftermarket place and upgrade to some Bilsteins for not very much cash.

Both my rear shocks went bad before 13,000 miles on my 2010 Lariat. The dealer replaced them both under warranty. I've since replaced the with Bilstein 5100's due to their quality. One was already leaking again at 17,000.

So,,,,, I had an appointment for April 25th for the dealer to look at the shocks and also to perform the TSB for the transmission. They replaced both rear shocks because they were both blown out. I DO NOT beat on my truck and I am really upset that a truck with an off-road package can end up with blown shocks before 7000 miles when it is on main roads 90% of the time.
Like I said, they also performed the tranny TSB. The thing about that is that the tranny was still acting up after the TSB and now they are tearing the tranny apart to find out what is going on so that they can order and replace what is needed. Today makes the 8th day out of service I'm not at all impressed!!!!!!

My left rear shock blew it's seal at 4500 miles, fluid all over the garage floor. I haven't had it off road or hauled anything yet. It was replaced under warranty. I think Bilstien's are in the near future.

Had an alignment on mine sunday and the tech showed me that I had a blown out shock, also the 4 bolts holding the lower cross memeber on were about to fall out.. No wonder It was making noise. The dealer did the lift on the truck before it was sold so It will be getting dropped off tommorow.
