Default A/C blows full when powered ON?

I've searched on here and google, IDK if i'm the only one with this problem because i couldn't find anything? every time i power on the a/c, the blower turns on to the highest setting? i always have to lower the fan to my liking but it's always, full blast. what gives? a computer glitch?

He said he has to lower the speed to his liking so the blower motor resistor is working. Didn't say its on full blast or nothing at all. I'm going to assume its how its programmed or there may be a setting you can adjust when you turn the truck off and start it up it goes back to its original setting prior to turning off. Never paid too close attention to that detail myself. I know there's a heater and a/c setting for remote start that you can set through your instrument cluster(at least mine has that). On Chevy's they're like that too on earlier 2000 year models that you always have to push buttons every time. Hopefully somebody else has a better answer then what I gave if they've noticed this before. Good luck.

I don't remote start it often and I have the setting to auto but that should only apply to remote start. I always turn off the a/c before turning off the truck.

If you have it set to auto, that is whats doing it. Mine does that too. When you lower it manually it should pop out of auto. Then just don't hit auto again and it should be fine. The auto setting will cause the ac to try to cool the truck off as fast as it can to the temp you have set.

thats remote start only. i don't have the a/c set to auto. simply turn on, hit a/c and it blows full blast.

From the Owners manual page 68:

AUTO: Press to engage full automatic operation. Select the desired

temperature using the temperature control. The system will

automatically determine fan speed, airflow location, A/C on or off, and

outside or recirculated air, to heat or cool the vehicle to reach the

desired temperature.

Auto is not just for remote start.

but it's in the "remote start" section of the dash menu? only giving you two options of last setting or auto. that's only for remote start on what the a/c will do.

Maybe it's different because mine is an older 2010. Mine won't go into auto unless I physically hit the auto button on my AC with my finger. When I remote start it goes to my last setting every time. I have no dash menu setting to tell it that.
