Seriously though, if you don't like chrome, that's fine, customize your truck the way you like it. But you may find that you're mistaken in thinking that everyone is on board with the fad of rattle-can rubber coating your truck.
I don't necessarily agree with plasti-dipping everything as all my black was professionally painted to match.... but there's a whole thread of guys using this stuff religiously so I wouldn't take it so far as to say everyone is on board with rattle can rubber coating fad... some even did the whole exterior of their trucks so this guy isn't the only one using it.

I am pretty sure the op said at least twice that PTM is the goal and he is using plasti-dip to test out the theme he is looking for cause its cheap and not permanent. So if it doesn't look good on a particular part peal it off and no harm no foul. I think it looks great blacked out.

Hey that would probably sell a lot as it seems to be really popular amongst ricers and mini trucks!

yes, i have read your previous posts about it being temporary.

your truck looks like an XL model now, which had you bought in the first place, you'd saved a bunch of money. i know, i know, you couldn't get the power options with the XL or the interior you wanted. but at least the outside could have looked the way it does now right from day one.

i really am for anybody modding their vehicles to their own taste. i just can't stand a "cheap" out of doing something. if you don't like chrome, don't buy chrome. everybody has their own "opinion" of what looks good. that's the great thing about AMERICA! if we had to go with the majority, everybody would have a leveled F150 with XD or Fuel wheels and all the PlastiCrap you could fit on these trucks. congrats on modding to your taste.

Default College girls like chrome.

Looks good. I have plans to do the same. Line-X on bumpers, and side steps and vinyl rocker panel. Blacked out retrofits headlights and black led tail lights. Probably black emblems too.

I have an XL with a chrome bumpers. Bought what they had on the lot too. I've had a lot of different vehicles and this 2012 SCAB XL is probably the best I've owned. Chrome, PTM, Murdered, I think they all look good, but its your truck. Can you imagine if we had to all have Red Lariats with the chrome package.

But hey, someone's college sister might go out with you if you had one. That is definitely what I would base all my truck mod's on. If I did this, would a college girl go out with me?
