Default buying 2013 v6 160k

I am eyeing into buying from a private seller 2013 v6 reg cab 160k miles. Seller is asking $6900. Looks clean. What are the must-check maintenance items at this mileage (eg, time belt?)? Thanks!

The 3.7 has a timing chain and not a belt. The 3.7 is a reliable engine overall and was used in a-lot of Ford vehicles. As far as maintenance items I would do Transmission fluid/filter change, Spark Plugs, Coolant, Rear end oil if these items haven't been done yet.

While no help for a particular truck, on average these 3.7L trucks have a good overall reputation.
Basically fluids and consumables need attention. The price would be considered less than average in my area.

Typically a timing chain is expected to last the life of the engine.

I’ve got the 3.7 and agree with going through all the maintenance items. Id be more concerned about the tranny and how well it shifts. Mine can be quite awkward in finding gears and shifted quite hard before I tuned it out.

The 3.7 is as a stout motor with no major hiccups. My agency has fleet of 3.7l explorers and the engines have been rock solid. We've had some maintenance items in reference to the accessories and driveline, but the core components of the engine have not had a single failure on any of our explorers, many of which are well over 120k miles with thousands and thousands of idle hours.

If it were me, I'd do plugs, transmission fluid, diff fluid, and coolant.
