I was in a similar boat, except I was thinking about getting a new Raptor vs new FX4. The Raptor is quite a bit more expensive because dealers are not willing to sell it much under MSRP. In the end, I decided to go with the FX4 because of the cheaper price, better MPG, and my off-road use isn't hard core enough to justify owning a Raptor.

Now, a lot of FX4 users will modify their trucks to the point where the MPG is the same as a Raptor. Once you lift it and put 35" tires on the FX4, the fuel economy isn't going to be significantly better than a Raptor. So that's something to consider as well.

Go with the new FX4. You really don't know how that Raptor has been treated. The first thing many do is to see how quickly they can get all 4 wheels off the ground.
