Default Bushwacker fender flares, yes or no?

I am not sure if I should install fender flares or not. Also curious if over time the fender flares will damage my truck, cause is to ruin the paint or rust. Has anyone had a bad experience with them? Thank you for your help.

Good Question. I've been on the fence about putting them on mine, too. One side says do it to it while the other side says leave it alone.

Would fender flares negate the need for mudflaps?

I am not sure mud flaps would even help my problem. The wheels that i purchased have a 0 offset, and my tires are 295/65/18 causing them to stick out pretty far. It seems that for now I can put the new tires on my old rims until I can afford to get another set of rims with a positive offset. I do like the look of the fender flares but dont want to cause any damage.

My 325 tires stuck out almost 2" and the bushwacker flares cover them perfectly. The flares come with a rubber seal that you put on the edge that prevents them from rubbing the paint on your body. I can't even get mine to move, they are on very tight and secure, I guess I will find out later if they hurt the paint if I ever decide to remove them.

This question can only really be answered by yourself as fender flares will dramatically change the aesthetics of the vehicle.

If the concern is to cover up wider tires that protrude beyond the factory fender, then by all means do it.

Now for my personal opinion, I generally have not found any flares to my liking in the past and would rather drive around with wider tires beyond the fender than put on some of the hideous looking flares I've seen (besides, the overwhelming majority of trucks with aftermarket wheels don't have flares).

But the Bushwackers for the current generation F150's don't look all that bad. Can't say that I would put them on my F150, yet the fact that I am willing to consider it tells me that they are looking better (still don't like all the "bolts" around the perimeter).

The best advice I can offer is to try and find as many varied photographs of F150's with fender flares as you can that also have the approximate tire size you plan to use them with and form your own opinion on whether you should add them or not.

those look really nice, imo, because they are kinda low profile and dont stand out as much as the ones with the ring of bolts around them

I appreciate everyones replys. I really like the look of your fender flares mudchucker. I may have to end up going with ones like those. I really like my tire and rim set up and would hate to have to change my rims. I just really dont want rocks flying up and chipping the paint. Thank you for the help. i will try to post a picture to show what I am up against.
