Default Burning rubber smell in front of truck

My XLT has been doing this for a while and stuff seems inconclusive. I'm going to go jack it up maybe tonight and give my front tires a spin. It's consistent after you drive the truck for a while that I get a rubber burning smell after coming to a stop. It stinks bad enough I open the windows on warmer days to air out. It's coming from the front of the truck and mostly the passenger front wheel. It's not the fan or anything... truck can idle all day and not make a smell... you have to drive to get it. It's not the belt either as the right front wheel distinctively smells. Unfortunately the fan sucks the smell through the cowl and gets it in the cab.

Now people will jump right on that it's a stuck caliper.... okay... fine. So why rubber then? I have gotten the brakes hot enough to smell and it's very much the normal brake hot smell. ... this however is just like you lit the tire on fire. The truck is stock in the tire, wheel and suspension department.

Anything else up there that can stink? I WE? It's a 2013 XLT 4x4 with 13000 miles.

Jacked her up and there is more drag on the passenger side which is no surprise. I'm not home so taking apart is not an option today. Soon lol.

It's under warranty. Have your local, friendly FoMoCo dealership service department diagnose the situation.

Looking for owners with similar problems... not people with zero knowledge of the issue thanks. The truck has NO WARRANTY so let's not dwell on it please.

I realize punching my issue into Google won't give anything useful. Found a couple threads with the same symptoms but none where it was resolved.

I would think that it's a caliper "starting" to go. You may want to look very hard at the caliper guide pins & make sure they are functioning & lubed up with proper hi temp/or actual caliper grease that is designed just for them. The reason I say this: I just did this on my son's F150 & found a seized guide pin being the culprit.
Lastly: gDMJoe is right.... Take it to your dealer. You stated it's a 2013 with only 13000 miles. (I'm assuming that was a type-o.... (130,000 Versus 13,000 miles). You ARE under your 3 year/36000 warranty bumper to bumper.

He's in Canada. I think their warranty is less than us in the 48.

And by the way, you need to change your font color on your sig. That isn't even close to Ruby Red. ;-)

We have several work trucks that do this. Anywhere between 04-14 so I always just figured it had to do with the belt. I know pulleys usually give a distinctive noise when failing but maybe one has lots of resistance and the belt is just slightly slipping?

Never knew that their warranty was different in the great white north? Curious what it is now.
I'm also wondering if the mileage stated was correct of him actually having 130,000 miles on it & it's not even 2 years old!??? Wow!
If so... I'm sure a personal diagnosis & personal fix may be in order & I'm sure frustrating.
The OP should still take a good hard look at the brake & components since he even stated some resistance on that side.
Keep us posted!

He doesn't use warranty. Our warranty terms are the same as you guys.
