Default 36k Warranty expiring, what to check for?

I have done google and forum searches for items to have dealer check.

Does anyone have experience with items found right before the 36k warranty expires?

I'm about 500 miles shy and going to take in this weekend. Any suggestions and comments are greatly appreciated

Getting off your question but my suggestion would be to look at getting an extended warranty. I had a 2011 f250 6.7l, didn't get the extended warranty. At 38,000 miles had a rear turn signal stop working. Turned out to be a broken wire in a harness in the drivers front wheel well. Cheap part but ended up being $300 due to the time finding it. An extended warranty doesn't cost $300, but got me thinking that you could cover the cost quickly with a few items.

Now I have the 2013 Ecoboost and got the warranty. Just peace of mind.

Something to consider if you plan on keeping the truck for a while. Price goes up quickly after 36,000 miles.

Can't answer your question but I totally agree with cford716. It's a gamble but with shop rates @ $100/hour and high priced parts, an extended warranty is a MUST for me. There are lots of options and many are equal to or better than the Ford plans. Spending that $1100 sure makes me sleep good at night.

I do have the extended service plan but wondering since my factory warranty of 3yr/36k is expiring. Should I take it in, with the intention of them finding something to replace under warranty?

Inspec and lubricate steering, ball joints, suspension, brake pads.

I do have the 1-2 gear jump sometimes and the rear jump from reverse occasionally. Question is then, could I take it and say "find some thing to replace under warranty?"

At a minimum, yes, I would take it in and have them look it over. I would also document every problem that you are having. As long as it was documented before 36,000 miles it should be covered.

Second I again would at least price some extended warranties. My last truck I didn't and that was one of the factors with me getting the new truck. As someone said to me, you don't get life insurance hoping to get your moneys worth anytime soon.

This is what I tell my customers, if it's defective it will break/fail before 36k miles. Anything else is where the extended service plan kick in. I also tell them it not an extended warranty, it's a service plan that covers mostly mechanical breakdowns/failures. I know they have different plans which cover different things but read your plan beforehand.
Of course their reply is "that's not what the salesman told me".

Go here and search to get a list of all TSB's that need to be performed under warranty. Just know that they'll only perform the TSB if you can prove it's happening. They won't fix it just because it's a TSB.

I had a checkup done before the warranty was up on my 2009. Dealer found all was well except the passenger's side upper control arm was worn out. Apparently the bearing or bushing was gone on it
