Built FORD tough!!

I am fortunate enough to be able to post this on the F150Forum forum today and I wanted to share this with all F150 owners and their families. Fords are Amazing Trucks!!!! I was a proud owner of a 2013 F150 FX4 V8 w/ Fox 2.0 Level and 305/55/20's until I was involved in a head on accident about 2 weeks ago. I was in the middle of my lane on a 2 lane bridge when a Chevy Suburban swerved over and hit me head on (Square, headlight to headlight) at collective rate of 90-95 mph. Both trucks were 100% total loss. I was very fortunate to walk away with only bad cuts on my hand which required some surgery and my life. After the inital shock of the hit, I was able to collect my thought, open my door (all doors still functioned) and was able to exit the vehicle. The Ford SOS/911 option dialed 911 for me and amazingly was still coming through the Bluetooth in the car. My engine was pushed back about 1 foot and the number 2 cylinder was inline with the firewall. The front of the motor was even with the suspension cross member and the motor went under the drivers compartment keeping the inside of the vehicle mainly intact. The Suburban which was involved in the accident A Pillar was pushed back almost 1 foot and the roof was completely deformed, the drivers compartment was also greatly compromised. Most people who viewed the cars were absolutely amazed that I just walked away from the accident. I want everyone out there driving these Ford F150's to know that Ford designs and builds Amazing trucks. I know for a fact that If I would have been in another car or truck I may have not been so luck.

How banged up did the Suburban driver/passengers end up?

I am the only one who made it out of the accident.

WOW....glad you are hear to share this with the rest of us, thanks very much for that.

Wow! Forget about any possible visible injuries. One would think somebody's brain sloshing around in their skull after coming to a complete stop from that speed would be life changing. Someone decided it wasn't quite your time.

Thank you for sharing this story and photos. That had to be terrifying. Other driver didn't make it?? Looks like your Ford saved you but that ladder came very close to being an even bigger catastrophe!
Glad you're still with us Brother!

Glad you came out ok. Sorry for the other driver. Do they know why he ended up in your lane? Air bag probably saved you life

As in there was a fatality? Wow, happy you are with us and able to share the story. Built Ford tough. The main reason I got a 2015 Supercrew vs the Supercab was because of the superior overlap crash rating.

Holy crap, it looks like the ladder almost went into the cab!!
Glad you are ok! Prayers to the family of the other driver!

Wow, we can only speculate why he hit you head on. God was with you that day.
