Default Bug shield vs hood protector

Hi, I am considering getting a bug shield for my 2013 F-150 XLT. I tend to go overboard with doing my homework with any product I buy, but sometimes after reading too much it just leaves my head spinning. I am not concerned about bugs, but I do want something to keep some of the paint on the hood from chipping from flying stones. Looking for opinions as to what kind of product I should be looking at. i do like the weathertech 50191 but not sure if this is what I should be looking at. My hood is the type that when opened, the entire front grill comes up as well. Any product suggestions??

If all you're looking for is paint protection, I'd consider paint protection film instead. You can buy a roll or pre-cut kits, the latter being more expensive though.
