Default Budget puddle light and turn signal install

Well after searching for an affordable set of mirrors with the puddle lights and turn signals I decided to make my own. I ordered the leds for the puddle lights off line for around $15 shipped and the led strips from autozone for $15. Took a little time to get it all installed today along with painting the mirror caps to match the truck. Here is a quick write up how I did it.

First after removing the mirror off the truck I removed the mirror and cap for the puddle lights.

Here are the puddle lights I used.

Next I drilled the cap and mounted the leds for the puddle lights.

Then I removed the four silver screws holding the front mirror cover and removed it then separated the cap. (sorry no pic of that)

I then installed the puddle light and ran the wires following the factory wiring.

I also added the turn signal lights behind the reflectors while I was there and wired them in. The install is similar to what others have done on here so I diddent document that part.

Next after re-installing the mirror I used t taps to hook up the turn signals and lights according to a pinout i found on google.

All finished

I will get a pic of the puddles on when I gets dark enough and post that up.

Looks great! Are those the 16mm?

They are pretty bright, I bought 2-16mm and 4-6mm LEDs and installed them onto my son Raptor wagon.

The yellow in the picture from the grill lights the Raptor came with. Well they were actually white, I painted them Amber to look more like the real thing!

Haha, that's awesome. I searched for days and days to find the perfect light and was happy I found them. Couldn't be happier. The same 8 AA batteries are powering them since December not on all the time but very impressed, they pull very very little power.

At the connector for the mirror you will tap into:

Pin 10 for the turn signal power
Pin 11 for the puddle light power
Pin 8 for the ground on both lights
