A bucking and a kicking!
Hello fellow Ford owners!
I just bought a 2012 F150 XLT super cab. The truck is in beautiful condition with 170k. It was a one owner truck (company car) and appears to never have towed , plowed or even hauled anything. It has the ecoboost 3.5. Pretty loaded up with stuff, and everything works fine.
HOWEVER! The other day I jumped on it pretty good to get out in traffic and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree and she went into limp mode. I pulled over turned her off, everything reset, she cleared up fully in about a mile and drove home just fine.
Where re do I start with troubleshooting. I've read it could be plugs, cool packs, or the condensation built up in turbo tubes. I've had cars where this was as simple as replacing the MAF, but not sure on the '12 ecoboost.
Any my help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Cigar Guy.

There is a TSB from Ford to replace the intercooler with a revised unit. Lots of folks also drill a small hole in the bottom of it so the Condensation can drain. Just do a search on this forum, more info than you can shake a stick at.
