Still working on my coffee, I must not have full reading comprehension yet.

But yeah, they are prohibitively expensive.

On the note of brush guards, they really cause so much damage because they are lighter weight materials, and only bolt on at the tow hooks. Which makes for alot of leverage if and when you do hit something.

If you wanted to get something custom made, or even just modify a purchased one you could triangulate it into the grill area. If you make the structure 3-dimensional it'll have much less of a chance to bend. Of course, you'd have to cut your grille to make that work.

Just an idea I have been tossing around. I actually bent up the "full replacement" ARB bumper on my last truck, after an accident in the winter.Just the top grille and headlight guard part, and no other damage to the truck. But it got me thinking about re-inforcing it.

When looking whats available through aftermarket through go rhino, westin, trail fx they all say "will not fit eco boost models" for some reason, probably due to inter cooler not getting enough air flow. I would check into what modifications would be needed to correct this before spending $$ on it

I spoke to the cattleman people and they advertise non ecoboost models but said they would fit just don't want to be liable for cooling issues. If you look at mine there a big hole where the intercoolers is so I don't see a problem. My grille guard mounts to the frame behind the tow hooks and the bumper frame structure behind the bumper cover. It has four points connected to the frame. It's STOUT!!!

Four points is good. It looks like to me the upper two points are through the same opening as the license plate. Right? Just clarifying. My winch fills up that opening.

Yes that's correct. I'm in the process of installing a front hutch reciever and having a winch mounted on the warn plate with 2" hitch plug and storing in the toolbox.

There was a law suit a while back where a Dodge got intoand accident and the air bags didn't deploy. It was all over the internet that a brush guard would stop your air bags and you'd die. What they didn't tell you was the truck went under the back of a tractor trailer. The bumper was never touched and the sensors for the air bag was behind the bumper. I've put one on all my trucks and my wife's Hylander. It's more of a deer guard then a brush guard.

Mines more of a deer guard as well. However, I had one in my truck in a front end collision and my airbags went off and everything functioned as designed.

Spyder industries have a bull/brush guard that I think is the sickest out there and doesn't cover up your intercooler either. What I would buy if I decide to snap on a bar in the near future, but a few other mods first. Pricey though..a few guys on forum have them.
