I wonder how many members of this forum (there's a lot of them) have had their lives ruined and lost family or friends to a drunk driver. I have, and I don't think OUI is funny at all. Not even as a joke.

Hey Mr. Fasttimez - Why don't you just grow a pair and say straight out that you're proud to be a reckless, irresponsible driver who's a serious threat to others on the road? I hope you get busted OUI before you kill someone. If you're really driving drunk all the time, get some help. And if you're joking about your drunk driving - it's not funny.
Yes it was a joke...I just didn't think that a couple of people like you and everyone else would get your panties all up in your crack about a little "dry" humor...seriously, go change your tampon and come back on the forum...You don't even know me and you're calling me reckless, irresponisble and that I need to grow a pair and to go get help...You need to watch what you say about people you don't even know...one day they might just be standing in front you and then your mickey mouse *** has to cash the check that your superman mouth wrote.

I haven't had a front plate in years even though it is required. I'm a firm believer that you can get by with it if you have NOTHING on the front.

If there is nothing there, there is nothing to stand out and create attention. On the other hand... a winch blocking it, or a vanity plate (think, NASCAR) will stand out, you'll get noticed, and you'll get stopped or get a ticket.

So.... take it off, but don't put anything else there and you will be fine.

Note, I talked a buddy into taking his off, but he replaced with a Dale Earnhardt plate.... he got stopped the very next day. The proof is in the pudding.

This is a good point... at the end of the day, is your truck looking the way you want it to worth a small fine? In my opinion, yes, we're not talking about thousands of dollars. Maybe a tank of gas worth at most.

Your joke was in seriously poor taste. That says a lot about you.

Howdy fellow Missourians! I am from Columbia and have contemplated removing my front plate as well. Too bad we can't get law enforcement to focus more on crimes and less on patrolling the highways to generate revenue by way of tickets.

Oklahoma doesn't require a front plate but I've got a novelty plate anyhow.

First post on this forum. Nevada's pretty cool about plates - here's a quote from the DMV website:

"Most vehicles require two plates at all times, except motorcycles and trailers, which require only a rear plate. You must display both plates if the vehicle is designed for a front plate or if the manufacturer offers an add-on bracket or frame. (NRS 482.275)

Front plates are optional only if 1) the vehicle was not designed for a front plate and 2) the manufacturer did not provide an add-on bracket or other means of displaying the front plate."

For the record, I don't drive drunk or reckless but I know there have been times where I have had beers and driven. I don't drink anymore if that holds any water to this thread. I do know that when I did drive after a few beers I didn't have a breathalyzer to determine my level of alcohol intake at the time so who knows what may have happened. Not having a front licence plate is simply an invitation to trouble whether you want it or not. I recommend one for anybody who is required to have one for that reason alone. Just get vanity plates if you hate the regular numbers, that's what I'm gonna do. If you don't drink or do anything else illegal, most cops will throw you a warning and a few will issue a ticket for a plate infraction. I have always just been polite and friendly to cops and I have gotten away with my share of illegal activity albeit minor infractions.

Minnesota has 2 plate law.

I ran a S-10 Xtreme for 10 years--1 ticket
Acura TL 4 years--1 ticket
F-150 so far nothing...

Nobody runs from a crime in reverse!
If you don't mind paying the fine then go for it.

Amen brother, when are all of us going to revolt against this current system and tell the so called people in charge "we are taking back our lives!"
