Default Brand new truck yesterday and shaking at highway speeds

I just purchased this truck yesterday. Its a 2013 STX 4x4 ExCab. The truck rides as smooth as any truck I have ever had. When I get up to about 55 it kind of shakes like a tire is out of balance or something. I read the forum about the vibration in 6th gear, but I don't think this is the same problem. It doesn't do it just under acceleration. It's not super bad but def noticeable and annoying. I was originally thinking maybe from sitting on the lot for a period of time it has a flat spot in the tires. But after driving 100 miles today it still feels the same. Has anybody else had this problem or any idea what is causing it?

I think I'd be having the dealer checking it out.

Yeah but I hate bringing it in there. You end up getting your wheels scratched, oil on the seats and a ding in the door. I'd rather fix it myself at all possible. I'd be happy to throw the wheels in the bed of my other truck and take them up my buddies shop and check the balance myself. I am just curious if anyone else has had this problem. Or if the newer trucks just are really bouncey and shakey at highway speeds

Today's radials don't get flat spots like polyesters do, especially with the amount of time you would be talking about. I have had cars sit for years and had the tire go flat, pump it up and take off with no thump down the road. The chance that a balance weight came off is possible though and even a bad (new) tire. I have seen this before in the shop not being able to balance a tire without going crazy with wheel weights which is not the proper way to balance a tire.

I bought a brand new 2005 that needed a tire rebalanced. That is most likely the problem. Simple fix.

Take it to your dealer and have the tires balanced.

Then come back and tell us about the oil on the seats, the ding in the door and the scratches in the wheels.

I'd find a new dealer if that happens.

Will the wheels off your old truck fit on the new truck? If so, might could swap wheels at your bud's tire shop and see if the vibration is still there. Would be a pain in the butt to do and make your new truck look kinda goofy with the old wheels on, but you'd know for sure whether the wheels and/or tires are causing the issue. Or could your friend with the tire shop just check the balance of your tires for cheap?

Get the dealer to balance and check out the tire. Could have been trashed during tie down on the tractor trailer in transport. When I worked at a Cadillac dealership in 90, a truck came in off the trailer with a bent frame, the top of the bed and cab were touching. Talk about strapped down.

ALL 4 of my Pirelli's were out of balance when I bought my truck!!! As much as 1.5-2oz!!
Rebalanced all was good.
