Default brand new truck with blown engine

I bought a new 2014 f-150 on Jan. 21st, on feb 13th with only 545 miles the #6 connecting rod broke and took out the engine.I sat on the side of the road for 2 hrs waiting for ford road side assistance to get towed to the dealer a bought it from.I haven't even made the first payment yet.I have spent the last week arguing with ford and the dealer. Ford wants to put a new motor in and I want a new truck. If any other product you buy breakes in the first 30 days they replace it. I want a new truck, what do you guys think.

Get a motor put in it. Just cause you got a bad motor doesn't mean the rest of the truck is bad. That does suck but make them make the first payment or two for your troubles. Get the motor replaced and enjoy your new truck!

Exactly this.

I can understand your frustration and anger. Hell, I might even think about a whole new truck after something like that (mine only has 700 miles on it). But to be realistic, what was posted above seems to be the right choice. If they can tack on that first payment and maybe the second, well that's just icing on the cake.

Sorry for your troubles. I really hope it works out for you quickly.

Sorry you ran into problems on your new truck. It's certainly disheartening to have something like that happen and it ruins the excitement of getting a new vehicle.
Ford is doing what their warranty calls for. I think your demands for a new truck are likely to lead only to more anger and frustration on your part. I probably would, however, push a bit for a extended protection plan, at least on the drivetrain.
It seems like Ford sometimes gives those in the interest of goodwill.

I'd want a new truck. I wouldn't settle for a replacement engine.

Why? The engine and the truck are built in two separate places on different days. Just because the motor had a fault doesn't mean the truck its self has anything wrong with it.
