Bed extender

It will work, but do yourself a favor and track down the newer style that splits in the middle and folds to either side. I always hated monkeying with the fixed extender in my 05. I found a used one of the newer two piece style on craigslist for a hundred bucks and never looked back. They are 300 brand new on ebay including the mounting kit.

I agree with 1stTruck...
I had a 2001 and 2004 with OEM aluminum bed extenders and I always stored it in the garage because it got in the way in my bed more often than it's usefulness, but having a bed extender does come in handy when it's needed.
The new 2009+ split folding version has been almost perfect: it does impede using the rear bed tie downs with the extenders folded (I will eventually add bull rings to the stake pockets to alleviate that). But other than that, having them always available when needed, and out of the way (mostly) when not, has been immeasurably useful for my needs.
