This was August 24, 2014. In the meantime they loaned me a Ford Focus. The reason I got the F150 is that we pull a travel trailer and love to camp, can't exactly pull with a 4 cyl. Did emailed Ford Canada and got a call 4 days later from customer service (which is a call centre) explaining that they were sorry for the delay and were speaking with there supplier to put a rush on the part. Called the service manager at the dealer to vent a little and got the same song and dance as the call center. So to make a long story short, today is September 14th missed out on 4 week-ends of camping and still no clue as to when this part will be in.
Thanks for reaching out about this, normc. I'd like to look into this further. Were you provided a case number during your correspondence? If so, please send me a private message with the case number, as well as your full name, best daytime contact number, servicing dealership, and an updated odometer reading. If you don't have a case number, just send along the other information and I'll be happy to hit the books.

Default Update on same problem

I'm totally amazed! One day after posting on twitter, Ford Trucks on Facebook, Ford Canada on Facebook and this site I was messaged by Ford Service to provide them with some information. I sent that information yesterday and this morning got a call from the dealer saying that the part was in and the truck repaired, Oh! and by the way they noticed a front end noise when they took it for a test run. They changed a front wheel bearing and told me that I need two front rotors and pads at a cost of over $450. All this at 56500 km. Totally amazed!!!

That is good to hear that it is fixed. I have heard the dealer having a few trucks in for this issue. and a few more people talking to them personally it is starting to happen to them. And they all seem to be going around 60,000 km.
I wonder how many trucks it takes before a recall?
After all the part shouldn't be on back order if it didn't need replaced in the first place.

I'm so glad to hear everything has been taken care of, normc! If you have any further questions, or would like to document some dealer feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'll be here (as well as my colleagues on Facebook and Twitter, of course) to help!

one oil change after my pump was replaced I was told I need a brake job........

So I drove my truck for a month with this problem as there were no parts available, and now my front brakes are shot. rear brakes are over 80 percent left, coincidence? I bet there is a brake bias issue when vacuum is not correct and it destroyed my front pads / rotors. Thanks Ford.

check your brake condition if you were forced to drive it without proper boost.

Default Almost Crashed because of brakes!

2011 F150 ecoboost, 80k km
Ok, it happened to me today. Almost crashed into another vehicle. Had to slam on my brakes and guess what? There almost were none. They never locked up and I basically slowed to a stop and pedal was bottomed out. Fluid is fine, both front and rear rotors/pads and within spec. Sometimes in the AM when I started the truck the pedal is already bottomed out until vacuum build up. Is this a bad vacuum pump? I have 80km on the truck! Have also had the timing chain noise that is a reported issue with this truck. I have owned a ford all my life, I think this is the last one. It's already had the loss of power at highway speed issue fixed at 60k. Come on Ford! Support you product, there should be recalls, especially with the brake issue.

Yup vacume pump. Be prepared for it to be on back order. My recommendation. Get the dealer on your side cause it is a ford of Canada problem. And major flaw with the truck.

If you go to a restaurant and find a hair when you are half way done your burger. The restaurant will make a new one cause they stand behind there product. With ford they have a part that should outlast the vehicle. But your out of warranty so too bad so sad.

I was a Chevy guy switched to ford. I think my next truck I will go back to check.

Ford USA inst any better. horrible defect rate on a brake component, parts shortage, and silence. unless more people report it higher there will be no relief.

Sounds to me like it's time to schedule an appointment for diagnosis, Bubbles101. Then, please send along your name, VIN, best daytime contact number, and servicing dealership information in a private message. I'll be on the lookout!
