So chances are that only a Ford Dealer would have the WDS system?

Had my TBC turned on at the dealer yesterday. Seriously took them 10 minutes. They charged me $25.00.

I created a word document from this thread with the instructions, and the comments that were made about how long it should take. They had no argument. He did tell me that normally anytime they hook up to the computer the charge is $52.00 automatically, but they gave it to me for $25.00....

I found the part numbers for the fuse and relay - do you think I can get an aftermarket (NAPA) version of these?
Where do they go?

I have a prodigy controller and can get their adapter for $20

just about any controller will work, I wanted the factory because there is a integrated spot for it, nice and neat.

Most will plug into the harness that is there.

I printed out the instructions for activating the integrated brake controller, but the service supervisor at my neighborhood dealership acted highly insulted and said he already knew how to do it. "I'll have to access the instrument cluster," he said, as if he were going to perform open heart surgery.

"Don't you just hook up the WDS?" I asked. "IDS," he sharply replied, "WDS is ancient history!"

He was able to stretch the process into a half-hour (about 25 minutes longer than my initial installation), but I'm not kicking. Free would've been nicer, but a 1/2 hour service charge wasn't horrible and now I have a functioning brake controller.

I am in deep debt to this forum, this thread and a couple of others dealing with this topic, without which I would've been up that familiar creek. Thanks!

not to beat a dead horse but i have a 2010 f150 with tow/go option. Has both 4&7 pin, Want to install factory tbc controller. There is so much info out there, but have yet to find the correct parts number.

Was on ford parts dot com, they list three diff contollers!
