Thanks for all this information - very very helpful (and I think even the dealer appreciated it!). Just on a side-note, my dealer also installed the follow when they installed my trailer brake:

6E5Z-14526-BA (Fuse)
8L8Z-14N089-A (Relay)

Thanks GSX for the offer, not ready to buy just yet. I did how ever find a service department at a local dealer that will program the truck computer for about $50, so that is a plus.

Just wondering as to the big difference between an aftermarket controller compared to the Ford Integrated one?

Thanks

Ok ya all- here it is... The computer settings change for the integrated brake controller for the 150 as described in this thread should only take a competent tech 5 minutes max to change. They are merely telling the trucks computer that the ITCB is onboard. $35.00 and not a penny more. The techs and the cashier and the service advisor and the service manager all need to get paid, but come on... 5 minutes is all it takes!

Hey ford, put these on before you sell the truck! The ITBC should be included in the tow package- Really!!

Default Sick of arguing about programming the brake controller

Hey everyone, i am in an argument with my local dealer about the installation time on an f150 brake controller. They want to charge me 110 dollars saying that there this and that to do. How long does it take any answers would be appreciated.

Default Trailer brake

ok sorry if I'm asking a question that has already been answered but
First my truck did not have a towing pakage. installed a hitch installed fuse and relay, bought the Ford 7 and 4 pin trailer pigtail for the rear so with that said what else is needed if any to hook up the Ford brake controller or an after market controller I do have the 14pin pigtail behind the dash with power on the red wire and I also have the pig tail for hooking up aftermarket controller. once again not beating a dead horse just trying to get going
