I wish I could say it is possible, but can't. TCB is for trucks with 7 pin tow package - the plus of the tcb is it is integrated into computer - unit in computer needs to know it is there and dealer tells it. Yours, the say, can't be integrated.

If you have the bigger motor with a trailer tow capacity of 10k lbs and the truck is only wired for 4 pin, then you need to have it wired for 7 pin. However it is my understanding that the trucks without factory 7 pin tow package do not have wire harness for TBC unit.

What do you want to tow and if a big trailer 8 or 10k lbs, why did you buy w/o 7 pin tow package? Did your salesman know what you wanted to tow?

Had it turn on yesterday at a local dealer, $55.00. That's a total of $279, controller $215.00 + turned on $55.00. 09 F150 screw xlt with tow package.

Small two horse trailer that my lil' 94 gmc 1/2 ton with a 200hp 350 pulled with ease, added a brake controller to it.

I crawled under the truck today and the harness going to 4pin coming from the truck main harness has all the wires for the 7 pin. So I'm guessing that I can buy the harness+7pin plug, get a controller (integrated one would be nice) and I am willing to bet the ecm harness is there too. I guess I have to experiment and bushwack a bit, but I'll make it work And its all flat land towing here, zero hills.

I can look up parts using diagrams ie:NH JD for my tractors online, anyone got a link for ford?

ford says if you dont have the factory tow package with both 7 and 4 pin plug the ford controller wont work but you should be able to install an aftermarket controller like on your old pickup

Just priced out the controller here in Canada from two local dealers, one wants get this $412.35 and the other wants $453.59!!! And that is just for the part not installed or truck programmed!!! I then priced it out at Tasca and with the exchange rate and adding G.S.T and shipping its $274.37 before duty!!! Which way do you think I 'm going!!! And they wonder why you don't buy locally...

Cheers

Update, just received a call from one of the dealers with a price to program the truck. He was told by the service manager that it is more to it then just popping off the panel and plugging in the unit and that they recommend that they install it. So they want $150 CAD to install and program the unit that they have priced at $412.35!!!! Do they think we just use the internet to look at ****??? Come on!!! They must really think were idiots and can't read or look stuff up...
