Borla Raptor Touring Cat-Back on 2011 Harley
Finally got my Borla Raptor Touring cat-back installed on my 2011 Harley Davidson. Here are my thoughts:
Order and Delivery: System was back-ordered and took almost six weeks to ship. Apparently Borla doesn't put the same effort into shipping and packaging as they do on construction. Box was beat to hell and packing material was minimal, which resulted in several dents and dings on the muffler, resonator, and tips. Grade D
Fit and Finish: Since this system was designed for a Raptor, I can't be too hard on Borla. I was told that it would probably fit, but no guarantees. Well, it almost fit. Hangers were all in the same place, so that was fine. Only real issue was an 18" gap between the new resonator and mufflers. Shop had to add some 3" pipe to fill in the gap. Had to heat and bend a couple of the hangers to get everything to line up correctly, but that was no big deal. Borla did include a couple of the wrong size clamps. Polished, rolled tips look really good and we were able to hide the dent. Grade B
Performance: I have no idea. Haven't dynoed or checked fuel mileage. Honestly don't really care either!
Sound: Exactly what I was looking for. Just a little more rumble than the stock harley exhaust, with ZERO drone. Grade A

Sounds nice and throaty. I like it. It's such a shame that you spend all this money on what's supposed to be a product from a top of the line name brand and they are so careless with the packaging. Glad you were able to get around the dents.
I myself am saving up for Gibson's Metal mullisha a exhaust. I heard it on a truck with e same engine as my fx4 and it sounds amazing. Not to mention the tip is awesome looking.
Congrats

That does sound amazing, but my fear is that it won't sound anywhere near as good on the 5.0. The 6.2 definately has that bassy big displacement v8 sound which is something the 5.0 does not have at all. The 5.0 has more of a high tech and higher pitched v8 sound. It also appears to be a bit too quiet for my taste. I talked with Chris as Stage3Motorsports for a while yesterday and he tried to talk to Borla to see if they would be willing to make an ATAK or S-type system with the factory style exhaust exit location. They were not interested which is a shame because I can't stand that dual rear out configuration. It just doesn't look right on a truck.
I am shocked that they would be so careless in the packaging on a $1100 exhaust as well. Borla sells the Lexus of exhaust systems on the market and I would expect packaging that keeps the system from getting banged up. Thankfully the dings were in on critical locations on the system.
I may end up going with the touring anyway, but my heart is set on the Roush which is currently on backorder nationwide since Roush is currently changing some things.

Finally i have found someone who did what i wanted to do! Borla would not give me a answer on the ford racing sport exhaust for my 2012 HD. Well here you are with a 2011 with the touring, means it can be done!
sounds great!

I love it! But may I suggest that you adjust your tips so that the "Borla" logo's are sitting horizontal to the truck. As you have them now, lets say they are sitting at 3 o'clock . Turn them left, to sit at 12 o'clock and you will find that the slash cut tips will sit evenly and not staggered as you have them. Unless you like them that way.. I love Borla systems!

Seems to me, another byproduct of aftermarket product fitment. Had you instead chosen the OEM Raptor exhaust, the only modification required would have been to reduce the flange size that mates to the y-catpipe . By that, check out my related 2014 thread when I was attempting to confirm fitment of OEM Raptor to replace my standard 6.2L non-Raptor OEM exhaust. Summation of that was that although assembly components differed in lengths, hanger mounting points and overall length installed on the vehicle was same (for comparable wheelbase configuration).
