Default Blow off Valve Question

Question gentlemen. I have a 2012 ecoboost. Recently I was getting a horrible shudder and jerk and I could hear my turbos kicking in and out. Well I did the vta mod and sure enough upon accelerating it's going psh psh psh all the way up to speed even though I'm in the throttle the whole time. My question is would that be the blow off valves or the wastegates?

Also I should add. I had a 93 custom tune on it from unleashed and my boost was mid 19s when I first put it on. Then it dropped to a max of 16 and my milage went from 18 to 12. So I put my canned sct 87 tune in it and mileage and max boost went back up. Now I'm heading back down in gas mileage and max went from 19 down to 17 now. So I'm sure this is related just not sure how

Mine is a 2013 so bov is in different place but, I recently just did the VTA mod and I was getting constant air releasing too. I ended up removing my bov and found a tear in the diaphragm, I got a new one and replaced it and the power difference now is insane. And no more air releasing except for when it's supposed to.

You can see the tear in the 6 o'clock position in the picture

Need just a 5mm allen socket and an extension, pull the hose off the stock bov then pull the little harness beside the bov toward you from the wheel well and Itll come right off its little mount post so you can get to all 3 screws very easy takes 20 min forboth sides
