Good to know. One pet peeve of mine since I got this truck is all the damned lights pop on soon as you turn the key off.

Ok confirmed the dark mode operation allows the interior lights to work via 2nd detent, however the horn still chirps on 2nd press of lock button on fob.

Think I'll leave it like that.

Thanks Joe and Rnicomp for the great advice and help. You guys know ur stuff !!!
Now all I gotta do is go to the dealer and get 'em to do this mod to my truck. I will call 'em tomorrow. If they try to charge me for it, I am gonna squeal like a stuck pig !
I will use the 12,000 mile figure Joe gave to intimidate them....haw haw haw.
And yes, I know about the room and wondering what I went in there for ! Age is 69 bumping 70.
Thanks, Pete

Good luck getting them to do it for free, I bought almost 60k worth of vehicles from my dealer within the same year and they charged me $90 to activate my remote start which is why I decided to buy my own IDS.

If you can't get any satisfaction from them and your ever down my way I charge less than the dealers, normally 75 but forum members I take care of for 50.

In trying to get the Police Dark out option on my 2012 Crew Cab XLT. Dealership says I can't have it o my truck. I was wondering if anybody might have an idea as to why.

Check out ForScan thread pinned at the top of this forum. Not sure if the option comes up on a 2012 but I did on my 2014.

Probably because they're not customer-oriented? As in they don't care about your satisfaction. Forscan can do it.

This has always bugged me too, the fact that even if you don't open a door the lights all turn on saying "here I am!" as soon as you turn the key to off.

So let me get this straight: if the Police Blackout is activated, one can still turn the lights on via the rocker switch, and have them come on when you open the doors? I don't know why this is so confusing for me to understand. Must be that age thang

So if the rocker switch is increased, the door lights will again come on when you open a door? (then you can set the rocker switch all the way down to keep the door opening lights from coming on) - right?

I still want the lights on at will, but be able to keep them off if I wish. Or would that entail having my own IDS?
