Default Black chrome f150 hid retrofit using morimoto h1 6.0

I really love doing these retrofits for the F150's (I'm currently doing my 5th retrofit project) and I wanted to do something really unique this time around but wasn't sure what. I came across a few posts about people trying to figure out how to do a black chrome headlight setup but were disappointed with the results they got from using night shades or other aftermarket products available. I figured it would look really sick if I could figure out how to do it so....Challenge Accepted!

My plan is to have a gloss black frame with black chrome buckets, I have the panamara shrouds so I am thinking of either doing those up in white to match my truck or to go back to a gloss black bezel to tie in with the frame. I am about half way through doing the first bucket and I have to say I think I found the solution and it is looking pretty insane. If all goes well I will be able to not only do black but red, blue, and green chrome as well. I hate to keep you in limbo like this but I will post some photos a little later today after I finish up this bucket, I need to catch a bit on shuteye as its been a long night.

It's almost closer to a dark gunmetal chrome color, but I love it, its as close to black chrome as you can get without doing some metalization. Here's a couple photos of the bucket and shroud, what do you guys think?

Thanks guys, we're expected to see -60 below wind chills here this week so I won't be aiming these up till this next weekend or so. I'll post up some better pics when I get the other bucket and the bezels done up!

Are you going to fill us in on the secret of how you did the black chrome? That looks pretty good.

I've finished both buckets and cant decide on which I like better, White projector shrouds vs black shrouds. Most of my friends are split so I figured I would turn to the collective opinion of the forum to decide before I seal these up. Let me know your thoughts!

From the pictures, the black reflector w/ white shroud looks sick. Wish to see that black chrome in person, in the pics it looks good.

I think the white compliments your truck better. Looks pretty sweet, nice job.
