Default Bilstein issues

So installed the 5100's in the rear on my "14 f150. First had the issue like many have with the gap between the ears on the top. Tightened them down and still had a thud. Everything was tight as can be. I had a constant thud or clunk at low speeds. I could even replicate it bouncing on the rear hitch. I finally had my oldest bounce on it and found the eyelets on the bottom is too big. As the shock is moving up and down roughly 1/8". It is causing quite a shudder up the shock and rear end. Anyone else run into this? I tried emailing Bilstein directly as well as Stage 3 motorsports where I purchased them, but no response. Not sure what to do from here? Debating on taking them off and going another route. I can't even determine how good these shocks are because of this sound.

Didn't have that issue with mine. Maybe need a bigger bolt. What part number did you install?

Find a phone number for Bilstein or Stage 3 and CALL them. I am much more likely to go the email route as well. But if there's no response from step 1, move on to the next option, which is a call.

I looked into this as well, but I would have to drill out the bracket then. The bolt is snug on the mounting brackets. Just loose through the eyelets on the shock.
