Post Bilstein 5100s for 2014 RWD/FX2

Unfortunately, when Bilstein went back to make the 5100 adjustable shocks for model year 2014, they only made 4WD variants and left us RWD/FX2 owners out in the cold..

I called a sales rep at their headquarters and he said there is no timeline for these yet and said the best thing to do is search their online catalog so Bilstein can see the demand is out there. For you owners waiting on these, please take the time and search their catalog linked below and fill out the product request form!

Don't forget about us Bilstein!

I had the same problem with my 2014 F150 XL 2WD, I put this on E-14162WDF150KIT quality so far seems pretty good.

Has anyone tried any brand comparable to the Bilstein 5100s for a 2014? I really wanted the Bilstein 5100s for my 2014 2WD XLT (already ordered a set for the rear before I found this thread) but since they don't make them there has to be comparable coilover on the market somewhere (Besides ICON that is, their pricing is ludicrous).

Am I missing something? The only difference between the 2WD and 4WD shock is one is 2" taller than the other. If you want to level/lift anyway, that's a great way to start.

As an example, I have HaloLifts / F150Lifts BOSS Coilover system. It is for a 4WD truck, but everything mounted up and worked as it should on my 2WD.

I stumbled onto a thread in the EcoBoost forums that mentions the lower control arm on the 2014 2WD is different than either the 2013 or 2015 and that replacing the LCA with the 2013 style will allow the Bilstein to mount properly. Seems like a whole lotta work for a fellow that just wants better ride quality than OEM.

I understand that the mount is different for the shocks up to 2013 and then 2014, but my point is, there is no difference in mounts for 2WD versus 4WD.

Appreciate the insight - I'll probably go that route but I would sure feel a lot better knowing the reason Bilstein specifically excludes the 2014 2WD. My guess is it's either a clearance issue or abnormal wear. I was hoping someone who's already taken the plunge would be able to share that experience and maybe save my wallet some serious heartache down the road.
