Default Bike carrier recommendations?

Has anyone used the Rec-Rac product for hauling bikes in the bed? I like that you don't have to drill any holes, but I don't know anyone that has used them, so I'm not sure if they actually work well. Their website isn't overly helpful, so I'm also not sure how well they fit on our trucks (I have a 2012 XLT).
If you have any recommendations on other products that would be great too. I typically carry 1-4 bikes to race or charity events. Thanks!

Have you looked at the Yakima BedHead? I'm leaning towards that, since there's no drilling required.

I have this one and love it. Works great and no drilling.

Here's mine. Thule. I guess they don't make this style anymore, because peoples bikes would go flying out of the bed. I solved that though...i mounted it under the rails, instead of over them.

you can buy extra holders as well for additional bikes. I mount mine right behind my tool box, so I have to leave my tailgate down, but run a strap through the frame to hold them downward.

Northshore racks probably is the best multiple bike rack I've ever used. Definately hold up better then a Thule when you have a couple 45+ lb downhill rigs bouncing around heading up some narrow goat trail to the summit. They're expensive but worth it. Not sure what type of biking u do. Road biking probably would be abit overkill

I use the Yakima Holdup hitch mounted rack. Referred by a co worker and fits my 29" tire and never looked back. You put up to 4 bikes if you buy the extra attachment. Pricey but love it. Allows to put everything in the bed on vacation trips and still bring the bikes.
