What to have checked near end of 12 mo warranty
I bought my 2012 CPO F150 11 months ago, and want to have it checked out before it goes off bumper to bumper coverage. Anything in particular i should have looked at? The vehicle had 65K miles at purchase, 72K now.

if your question is what should you have the dealer check? Let him know what you think is wrong. The dealer won't waste time checking your vehicle over just because you're at the end of your warranty. Of course for piece of mind you could always pay him to. Might run you couple hundred. It is labor time.
If your question is what should you check... everything and nothing. If you've taken good care of your vehicle over time you should have nothing to worry about. The engine won't drop out if your truck the day after your warranty expires. Your truck has no idea it's out of warranty so it won't just start acting up. Be confident you've done a good job caring for it over that year.

Given that my truck is a CPO (previous owner was Canadian Ministry of Transportation), I don't know how it was used, or how many drivers there were. i just want to make sure there isn't any potential lingering problem that I wouldn't have noticed in one year of light use. When i bought it, cosmetically it had a few minor dings and some bolts had been driven through the top of the bed frame to mount something, but otherwise seemed in excellent shape. It's been a mild winter here in the Northeast, so i haven't needed to put it to the test in adverse weather conditions. I was also wondering if there is something that tends to require maintenance or replacement early on if the vehicle has been used hard but doesn't show it yet.

Rather than take it to a Ford dealership, I decided to take my truck to a trusted mechanic we've used for years, knowing he would do a thorough inspection and give me all the details without a possible bias to overlook things. He said everything looked good- couldn't find anything he would recommend having replaced or repaired under warranty, but noted that the transmission gasket had been replaced. When I asked if that had been done as part of dealing with a problem, he said it shouldn't be of concern.
I'm glad I decided to do this, and have some peace of mind that when my BTB coverage expires shortly, I won't experience the regret of not catching a lingering problem that could have been fixed.
