I did the Extang Solid Fold as it sits on top of the sides to seal and flips back on itself in the front flat, not such a window blocker and upright PITA. Easily removed in less than 5 minutes to facilitate the complete box for large loads. It seals fairly well, not perfect near the tail gate but not much there to keep dry from the very light moist. That is probably pulled in past the tail gate anyway when flying down the expressway.

I just got onto this thread - having read most of it.
I have a G2 - it's a total disaster! intially had the same issue as the first post - wear at the folding seams within a month (same as picture provided by the first poster) - which created water leakage - clips broke that hold the poles that hold the Bakflip up. Then the last brace near the tailgate littlerally fell off - water got inside the Bakflip and rusted the screws that hold it on. I could probably fix it all myself and make it work but Ive been waiting for 2 plus months now from an answer from the dealer I bought it from on replacement/repair - apparently they are awaiting answer from Bakflip Industries.
I looked at many covers prior to purchase and decided on the G2 based on what I thought looked like quality of product and ease of use - boy was I wrong...maybe they've been upgraded? mine is 2 years old...
I'd post some pictures but its at my shop office sitting on the floor in pieces...not on my truck

I wouldn't count on BAK doing anything about your cover. The hinges appear to be really suspect in these covers. It appears that use the same hinge in all of the covers they produce that folds. I'm sure there are many more failures than what has shown up on this one forum.

Conversely, there are many, many more people that have no problems.

I've had mine on for almost 4 years and have no problems except with a little fading but that's my fault as I haven't done anything but wash it. I've added no protector or shine to it.

My clip did break for the struts but I snagged it. I expected that to go as it was plastic and had a plan B ready and used an aluminum rubber coated cable securing deal. Works great and gas held for a couple years now.

I feel bad for people that have these problems, it seems that you either get a great one or one that gas too many problems.

Is your truck parked inside when not in use?
