I agree with everything you posted last. pulled from baks website The cover is 100% weatherproof as it is impossible for the water to penetrate the panels or the hinge areas ensuring that your cargo area stays nice and dry! Absolutely all season friendly - 100% resistant to rain snow and the elements
I guess it's all in perception and wording.

Resistant and proof, to me are two separate things. It is all season friendly as mine only gets a few drops in by the step area on tailgate and in the corners up front but all my gear stays dry.

This is where I was referring to, it just says weather resistant. I didn't see where you got your info from on the site.

Either way, I agree on all fronts. These guys should get hooked up because CEO came on here and said he would take care of them.

Hopefully it will all work out in the end but for the fellas that aren't happy, Peragon makes a nice cover and from the threads I've read, has excellent customer support. The owner even gets in on the threads and does a better job communicating.

I've never had anything get wet, but do have leaks. the raised bottom keeps things from sitting in puddles.

This thread got way out of hand, hope for these guys president follows through on his promise. I feel bad for both parties, members and Julian

So he would be aware of what is being said about the product! If you don't know, you can't fix it!

Nothing bad was really being said it was pretty neutral, nothing out of the norm for any forum review anyways.
I really wish Julian didn't come here, really made it worse for you, and him. You probably lost out on a goodwill, he will have anyone who reads this thread emailing him directly to complain.

I have always found it best to post after all is said and done. It breaks down the trust factor when ongoing issues are posted publicly, and business owners feel that they are locked in a losing battle and often tend to cut their losses rather than fix a problem. I don't think anyone but the purchaser and the vendor need to be privy to details of any transaction in progress. Both vendor and customer will always post what bolsters their own position, and goodwill will be met with undue criticism.

I have had issues in the past with other manufacturers. I contacted them, waited patiently after stating my case, and have been pleasantly surprised in all but one situation. Those who came through for me I continue to support, those that did not, I said my piece and moved on.

There are two sides to every story, and somewhere in between lies the truth......

I didn't post it to try to motivate him to replace my cover, but to let him know that all is not well with the product. As a business owner, if people didn't let me know where we fail, then I would be oblivious to a lot of issues that can be easily corrected. I think building a product that can't be serviced is not the best thing for the manufacturer or the consumer.

Can you imagine if Ford built a truck and said if the engine or transmission fails, you simply throw it away! Same principle, but on a much larger scale.....

I do see your point, I'm sure his call center is filled with complaints, and I'm sure you emailed him your concerns. Just feel you'd have had better luck not bringing him here. My first post in this thread was me "bashing" Julian, heck maybe I am the reason you aren't getting anything. not sure if you read my post from the other forum, but that's how a president should respond.

If you had done research you would have found out that these covers aren't completely waterproof, many have and moved on to another cover because they needed 100% waterproof.

Everything I've seen from them doesn't state 100% waterproof so if you wanted it to be waterproof you should have went with a different brand.

Mine is still going strong after a few years and even today with over 18" of snow it is nice and dry except for a couple places in the corners where a but of water gets in.

Your situation is a buyer beware one, you didn't do the research and now are unhappy because it still leaks even when the company never said they are waterproof.

Like I said before, you just can't satisfy some people.

On another note, I wonder how many problems are associated with owner install? I installed mine and kept tweaking it until it was as good as it gets. I am also a problem solver and if a product isn't exactly as advertised I look at the problem and find a solution. I know that is not the mentality of most as a product should work as advertised, and I agree but sometimes you have to get creative.
You are correct, no where on the website does it state 100% WATERPROOF. No one is arguing this. NO ONE expects a 100% waterproof cover.. I didn't expect a cover to leak down the freakin middle of the of the joints and panels. I can't leave anything in the middle of the truck bed. There is nothing I can do about that. I have pasted an email below from Mr. Maiman to me about his expectation on leakage. That continues to be my expectation as well. So to address your feedback, you are incorrect, the company does state that the covers should not leak and warranties the covers against leakage from around the panels and flexible joints. The point is, and I'm not sure you're getting what I'm saying, I've had three defective covers. On the satisfied scale, that's in the danger zone. I don't know how one could argue otherwise.

Verbatim message from Julian Maiman to me dated Jan 26, 2012 when I had my first issue of leaking:

Duane,

Thanks for your email.

We will gladly replace your defective cover with a new one. I'm most sorry for the inconvenience, and want to assure you that this is by no means the norm. The Bajflip F1 is a fantastic product which should and generally does not leak at all.

Kindest regards,
