I will attempt this way of replacing out of warranty anything that doesn't measure up.
Dear (whatever company), the item I purchased from you is no longer under warranty but is now defective and I expect it replaced for free or at your cost for replacement. If this does not take place I will bash you publicly. And if I don't get a new one within a week I will be enraged.

I too expect quality when I spend a lot of money, but seriously this is unreasonable. I haven't bought a cover yet, but will be buying a fibermax shortly. If I get burned on it I won't buy it again nor recommend it. But, for the owner to post on the forums like this even if he doesn't get it taken care of right away is trending in the right direction.

I have an F1 that is going on 4 years old. Couldn't be happier.

For someone to want a new cover that is 3 years old and then think I will threaten to ruin this company's reputation by posting my complaint on a public forum. Then expect to get some satisfaction....and get a new cover for FREE.

You bought it... be happy... or move on. It's called wasting energy....negative energy...life is too short.

I feel sorry for those of you not satisfied with BAK industries. I recently purchased a G2 rollbak and from the 1st time I put it on it did not retract properly. I tried several times to tighten the spring per tech support from BAK. It did not work however they did send me a new cover after trying twice then calling and it works perfectly. While I initially was not thrilled that my expensive cover did not work they did correct the issue and I'm completely satisfied. Don't give up on them it's a big company and I'm sure there going to do right by each of you. Good luck with resolution of your issues.

This is why I would not post on forums if I were CEO of a company. Too many heart aches.

I see people complain about the BAK products and that they are crap because they leak, well they never claim them to be water proof or water tight.

I too think it's crazy to think you are owed something after the warranty period is up. I know the frustrations as it has happened to me with other items but I chalk it up to life lesson and never buy from them again and move on with life.

These guys are in business to make money and if they didn't have a hard line on the warranty they might and most likely would go bankrupt.

Should he have come on here and post about it? Nope. As to his confusion about how was being helped is easy as if you're not familiar with forums they can bounce around and update quick and it gets confusing.

Oh well, I enjoy mine and have had great service from them, hope you can know that feeling one day.

I have no problems with someone giving honest review/feedback on a purchased product. Gives us consumers something to think about if in the market for covers.

So anything that cant be fixed with paper clips and duct tape makes me wary!

Look op just gave a review, buyer be warned type review. Pres did not need to come here at all, the fact that he did made this thread what it turned into, could have just been a review, few people would have chimed in either agreeing or disagreeing. Fact is the pres did come here and to offer to replace the cover as a gesture of good will (big mistake if you ask me) should have either pmed the op or replied to his email which would have the op retract his bad review and sing praises. Coming on here made things worse. The fact does remain he came here and made promises. Now can you blame us for expecting him to honor his word? We can all agree product was out if warranty, op was out of luck. The presidents empty promises made things worse

the recent member posts show they clearly did read it - you just don't get it. You and at least one other poster had a shot at getting a free replacement, but none of you could hold back from the gangbang so you get two things instead of just one replacement cover: 1. jack 2. squat

next time a product fails after the warranty is expired and the company offers a free replacement hold back long enough to get the cover and then bash them.

I have read this thread and it took me a long time to post.

As far as an honest review that's good info and what a forum is for. The Op stated he posted here and sent a link to the company. I feel like his only reason to post the review was to get the attention of the company and get a free cover. One that is 2 years out of warranty.

Just my opinion. Could have said review of 3 year old BAKflip...Not beware of BAKflip.

Once again read the original post! I said the cover is two years old, not two years out of warranty! Yes, it is out of warranty, but it doesn't diminish the fact that I made my decision on this product based upon reviews from this forum so I posted this review to let others know what I experienced with not only the cover, but with the customer service from the company.
