I have 2000# Helwig overloads on, they barely impact the ride and are easily adjustable. They were dirt cheap, install in half an hour, and you can adjust them with a cordless impact in 2 minutes. I have been very pleased with them. I took them off my 2011 and installed them on my 2013 easy peezy.
Fortunately, unlike most GM products, Ford puts decent shocks on the F150, so it is reasonably well damped even with overloads.

i have the riderite and the onboard compressor with the gauge and switch in the dash - love it, and empty no difference in ride from stock

i hauled about 1900lbs of pavers 70 miles at 75mph most of the way ... no issues - was nice when the forklift put them in, it squatted down a lot - pumped the bags up to about 80psi and it leveled it out again.

What options do you have? I have a 14 EB 4x4 157' XLT with the max tow package and a payload of 1720.

Pretty basic. 2wd, 18" wheels, center console, cloth bucket seats, 4.2 Sync radio, backup camera, trailer brake, but no max tow. Maybe the max tow adds some payload?

My question is what are you guys using to keep your truck level? I will be towing my boat too which is about 5k pounds. I've heard of firestone airbags but heard they hurt the ride, I want to keep the stock ride quality since I'll only use the camper during the summer. Let me know what you guys think or what has worked in the past...

Air bags, in my opinion, will give you the best of both worlds. Yes, they cost a little more, but you have 100% control over the air pressure, and will level/raise your truck to your desired height and personal choice.
Here is my thread on the Firestone Ride Rite and Air Lift compressor install.

They still work great & ordered the exact same set up for my son's truck... couldn't be happier with these!

And H-60 Electrician is correct on the Air lift brand having rebates on the airbags & compressors.
(FWIW: Firestone Air bags will work better with anyone who alters their rear suspension from stock, [i.e.: different rear block height], versus Airlift, due to the lower mounting configuration). If you're staying with your stock height rear blocks, the Airlift brand air bags are indeed a great product and you can get additional $$ back on their current rebate.

Thank you!
Yes, quite impressed with air bags. I always owned Air lift brand bags in the past and no issues with them.... But my last 2 F150's (a 2011 and my current 2013), I have the Firestone Ride Rite's and they're just as nice & mount much nicer in our F150's, in my opinion...and as stated by other members, there is NO difference in ride.
